While both sober coaching and AA provide support for individuals seeking sobriety, they differ in structure and approach. AA is a peer-led support group that follows a 12-step program, emphasizing community support, spirituality, and mutual aid. Meetings are typically group-based and follow a set format.Sober coaching, on the other hand, is a one-on-one, personalized experience. As a sober coach, I work with you individually to identify your specific challenges, set achievable goals, and develop customized strategies for maintaining sobriety. Our work is highly personalized and focuses on your unique circumstances, whether you're in recovery or looking to quit. While AA might be a valuable resource for some, sober coaching provides a more tailored, direct approach that’s focused entirely on your personal journey and needs.
The length of time you work with a sober coach depends on your individual goals and needs. Some clients may benefit from short-term coaching to address specific challenges, while others may prefer ongoing support to maintain long-term sobriety and continue their personal growth. We’ll work together to determine the best approach for you, and as your needs evolve, so can our coaching relationship. There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline; the focus is on what works best for your journey and helps you achieve lasting, meaningful change.
Absolutely not! Sober coaching is not just for those who have already quit drinking. I work with individuals at various stages of their journey, whether you're contemplating sobriety, actively trying to quit, or already in recovery. If you’re considering a change but aren’t sure where to start, I can help you explore your relationship with alcohol, identify your motivations, and create a plan that aligns with your goals. Whether you’re just beginning to question your drinking habits or have been sober for a while, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
Working with a sober coach is a personalized, supportive journey designed to help you navigate life without alcohol. You can expect regular one-on-one sessions where we’ll discuss your challenges, set goals, and develop practical strategies to overcome obstacles. Unlike traditional support groups, sober coaching offers a tailored approach that fits your unique needs and circumstances. Together, we’ll work on building a strong foundation for long-term sobriety, developing coping skills, and enhancing your overall well-being. My role is to be your guide, motivator, and accountability partner as you create a life that aligns with your values and aspirations.
